Our herd now numbers about 30 does. We are maintaining a separate group of four bucks that we will use for linebreeding. The goats are proving to be easy keepers and pleasant animals to have at the farm.

We market the excess goat kids directly to a meat processor as well as to retail customers at the Farmer's Market.

Goat meat is gaining popularity as the demand for healthier, low-fat meats increases. It is a staple throughout much of the world. Americans are beginning to discover the benefits of this pastured, antibiotic-free, hormone-free meat. And - it also tastes great!

Spanish Meat Goats are a heritage breed, and are known for their hardiness and maternal instincts. There are less than 8,000 of these animals left. They are classified as a 'high conservation priority' status by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy. By raising these animals, we are helping to conserve a genetic resource that might otherwise be lost forever.
