2007 marks our seventh year of business at Brightwood Vineyard and Farm! From our humble start, growing only one acre of pumpkins, we have now added many other enterprises to our mix, including berries, grapes, vegetables, herbs, flowers, meat goats and laying hens. We encourage customers to visit our farm (please call first) or to stop by our stand at the Charlottesville farmers market.

Our goal as a diversified small farm is to be sustainable both economically and ecologically. We are committed to providing high quality products to local consumers while being good stewards of the land we gather from.

A few examples of our efforts to farm responsibly include:
--Reduced use of pesticides and other chemical inputs
--Certified Organic production for berries, vegetables, herbs and flowers
--Raising rare/ heritage livestock breeds to conserve genetic diversity
--Rotational grazing
--Encouraging riparian buffers to restore health of waterways
--Good Agricultural Practices to ensure safe, wholesome produce
--Contribution of fresh, healthy produce to the local economy
